Anxiety about change

When facing change, our instinct may be to tense up physically, mentally, or emotionally, often without noticing until anxiety or worry arises. Instead of resisting, we can embrace change with a positive mindset—anticipating the new and letting go of the past gracefully.
Changing how we view our feelings helps too. For example, reframe anxiety as butterflies eager with anticipation, shifting focus to the good ahead. This mindset encourages joyful expectation and carries us forward.
Creating a personal ceremony—like burning written thoughts, planting flowers, or celebrating with a send-off—can also help process emotions. Society’s rituals, such as graduations or weddings, serve similar purposes. Moving from denial to acceptance transforms nervousness into excitement, making change a natural and positive part of life.
